With the amazing 20% off experiences and gifts from Virgin Experience Days, when we were invited to the East London Liquor Company to experience the gin tasting afternoon, we couldn't say no. We took four fabulous bloggers along to taste some luxury gins and generally have a lovely time.

We took the lovely Rebekah from The Becks Effect, Allie from Rush & Teal, Fleur from London Blogger and Jessica from Enjoy The Adventure.

The East London Liquor Company, located a short walk from Mile End tube station, was amazingly Instagrammable. Fun fact - the distillery is set within an old glue factory and has an ode to the poor horses that ended their lives there as the logo of the company is actually an upside down (i.e dead) horse. Weird, kind of creepy but true.

We headed down to the cellar where all of the whiskey was ageing (over three years before you can even drink it FYI!). The smell of the alcohol hit you like a tonne of bricks but we soon acclimatised to it! In the experience, you receive a half an hour tasting experience with 5 different spirit tastings with an extremely knowledgeable host, ours was called Alex. We went on to taste vodka, gin and navy strength rum neat and indulge in all of the smells, ingredients and different tastes.

"After our fun and insightful tasting we headed up to the bar for a good old gin and tonic. Which tasted surprisingly almost non-alcoholic after all of those straight shots!
