London
Each year the capital’s Chinese New Year events attract around 700,000 people and is the biggest celebration outside of Asia. The event is free and will open with a traditional dragon and lion dance, followed by street performers, music and food throughout Trafalgar Square, Chinatown and the West End.
Manchester
During the Chinese New Year weekend, Manchester will put on its biggest celebration to-date. There are events around the city from 16th February, and it’ll all be wrapped up with a dragon procession starting at midday in Albert Square. There will also be a huge firework show, which kicks off at 6pm.
Newcastle
The city’s recent success with a crowdfunding campaign for this year’s events means they’re set to be bigger and better than ever! There will be a parade on 16th February, which will start in the centre of the city, but events are currently running throughout the city in preparation for the main event.
