Labor Day is all about having a well-earned day off, so it’s time to kick back and relax. If you are having a little celebration, I’m sure you won’t want to be messing around prepping food and drinks all day, so we’ve found 5 no-fuss recipes which are all guaranteed to deliver on flavour. We’re taking a backyard BBQ theme!
1. Spiced sweet potato & bacon skewers
What is a BBQ without skewers? These spiced sweet potato and bacon ones look so good, and with just 7 easy to follow steps, they’re ideal for an easy cooking sesh. What’s great about this recipe is that you can add in some extras if you fancy - we’re talking chicken, halloumi, peppers and onions.2. Mini Cheeseburgers
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how cute these mini cheeseburgers are? Full size burgers are great, but these are so much more party friendly. You basically need all the same ingredients as you would for making a normal burger, but you obviously won’t need as much. All your pals will be super impressed - your mini cheeseburgers will be all over Instagram!3. Olive oil parmesan grilled corn
Grilled corn is the ultimate backyard BBQ option - so easy to make yet so tasty. This recipe however is slightly different in that the corn is grilled in foil containing an olive oil parmesan mixture. Uh huh, cheesy corn. Game changer. There are 5 short steps to follow and minimal prior prepping needed, so you can spend more time celebrating.4. Watermelon on sticks
See, we told you this would be straightforward. All you need to do is chop up a watermelon into triangles and pop them onto lollipop sticks, and there you have it - watermelon on a stick! Labor Day is also associated with celebrating the end of summer, so you’ve just got to have some watermelon to see it out. Also, this is really inexpensive, so if you’re on a budget, this one’s for you!5. Pineapple sunset cocktail
Last up is a cocktail, of course! This pineapple sunset cocktail is not only all kinds of tropical, but it only takes 5 minutes to make. All you’ll need for this is ice, pineapple juice, vodka, grenadine, cherries and some sparkling water. So simple. If you’re not an alcohol drinker, replace the vodka with some pure orange juice. Whether you have this as a cocktail or a mocktail, it will be seriously good!
