Baby it's cold outside
Some people really love snow: Lorelai Gilmore, my dog, that boy down the hall with the bumper sticker on his jeep that says "SNOWBOARDING IS LIFE"! I am NOT one of those people. I'm pretty cool with Winter up until about.... December 26th. After that, I'm furiously googling where, when, and how fast I can get to my next beach fix.
Since I didn't go anywhere fun over Winter break (thanks a lot, parents), I've been doing a lot more vacation stalking than usual. WHATEVER! I'm trying to warm up over here. Spring break is around the corner but it's just far away enough that I'm having trouble remembering what it's like to be tan and happy. I'm also not trying to go #SpringBroke in the meantime.
With all of that in mind, here are the top tropical locations I've been staring at on Instagram in an attempt to stay warm/avoid seasonal depression. Lucky for me (and you), Hotels.com is 10% off for students. So... where are we going?
1. Pig Beach, Exuma, The Bahamas:
Do I even need to caption this? It's my lifelong goal to go to #PigBeach. It's legit my favorite hashtag ever to stalk on Instagram when I need cheering up. You're welcome.
2. Bali, Indonesia
Bali has always been one of my dreamiest locations-- it probably has a little something to do with Eat, Pray, Love. I'm dying to try some Indonesian street food, pretend I live a life of simplicity, and take some killer Instagram pics under waterfalls with tropical flowers in my hair.
3. Cancun, Mexico:
What's not to love about Cancun? With the best all-inclusive hotels in the vacation game, it's affordable and it's breathtaking. It's also probably the most social location on this list-- you're guaranteed to make tons of new Spring break friends from all over the country and the world.
4. Kauai, Hawaii:
Fact: Hawaii is paradise no matter where you stand. What has me sold on Kauai is its nickname "The Garden Isle". I mean, come on. It's rumored to have the best sunsets, the most wild wildlife, and I have it on good authority that they film the most movies out there (Jurassic Park for crying out loud). Let's go already!
5. Kayo Largo, Cuba
After stalking all of your vacations (you know who you are) I feel like I might just be the only person who HASN'T been to Cuba in the past couple months. From what I've heard it's a little bit like stepping into a time-machine. Also, it's super affordable, they're excited to greet American tourists, and you can snag some cheap cigars for Dad (brownie points!!!).
