Summer lovin' commence now!
For some of us, summertime means vacationing, long days at the beach, and lounging at the pool. And then there are the workers, who spend their summer saving money.
You would think that jobs would be easier to find, but it’s actually tough, especially when you’re searching last-minute. First, you have to figure out what job is for you: What do you like to do? Do you have a passion for something specific? Do you like animals? Do you like to work in a team? Do you prefer to work alone? Can you work long hours in the heat? Can you work around children? Do you prefer to work 10-hour shifts or 5-hour shifts? If you can easily answer those questions you’re already on the right track in your job search.
The best lesson I’ve taught myself is that no matter how many no’s I get, to remember that those jobs weren't part of my destiny. As Lady Gaga famously said, “There can be 100 people in a room…”. I started off as a young fresh teen who was actually pushed to get a job by my parents. So my first job was chosen for me and I spent three years of my life working for Burger King and I wasn't a happy worker. Every day was a challenge for me and the day I left was one of the happiest days of my life.
Also, I encourage you to turn anything that you love to do and can imagine yourself doing it forever, to build and create it so that others would love it and also would buy it from you. Create your own business, become your own boss, and do something that you love. Trust me, it beats working for someone else.
