Furry and fierce
Animal print is super in right now. leopard and cheetah have been in the light for a little while now, but zebra print is finally coming back as well. Snakeskin is also slithering its way into our wardrobes. Here are some ways you can incorporate these fun patterns and textures into your wardrobe this winter without going overboard.
A statement belt
Dress up any outfit with a nice statement belt his winter. I’m lovinggg this leopard one from American Eagle, which I’m envisioning with an all-black outfit. Perhaps high-waisted black jeans and a black turtleneck? Or, of you’re going out, a black tank instead? Ah, the possibilities.
A fun sweater
Zebra is coming back in a big way, so you better prepare yourself appropriately by picking up this amazing Zebra sweater from Nasty Gal. You can dress it up or down, switch from leggings to jeans to bring it from class to a house party! Super easy and super cozy.
A poppin' bodysuit
Nights out are probably the best opportunity to showcase your animal print flair this winter, and bodysuits are the prime going-out move. This bad boy from H&M is super cute, soft, and warm without being sweaty or itchy. It could even be worn with a nice black skirt to your internship!
Some printed leggings
Why not make our gym routine more fun with a pair of exciting leggings like these ones from Missguided. They could easily be paired with an oversized black sweater or sweatshirt and worn to class too (if you don’t want to carry around gym clothes with you). You can never have too many leggings, IMO.
A (faux) fur coat
SO FUN. SO WARM. SO PRACTICAL. SUCH A GOOD INVESTMENT. A nice faux fur coat like this beauty, courtesy of Nasty Gal, is perfect for internships, semi-formals/formals, brunches, and whatever else you want to wear it for. Just make sure you don’t get caught petting yourself too many times...speaking from personal experience with soft faux fur coats.
A fancy sweatshirt
You need something that’s casual enough for class, but also cute and fun, and we’ve found it. This stunning sweatshirt from Charlotte Russe is the perfect blend of casual and cute. There are so many different ways you can wear it, whether it’s with black jeans, regular jeans, leggings, a black skirt and thigh-high black boots, or even a corduroy skirt and tights.
Some statement booties
A statement shoe is one of the most important things in the world to me. I’m literally wearing cheetah print sneakers as I write this. I’m obsessed with these leopard-print booties from ASOS, which are perfect for a night out when you want to dress up that all-black outfit that you allllways wear (we all have one).
A pair of dressy pants
If you have an internship, an interview, a part-time job, or you just want to look nice, definitely be bold with your pants. A pair like these from Charlotte Russe are a perfect way to stand out while still looking presentable and professional. Add a black or white turtleneck and some booties and you’re good to go!
A subtle cardigan
Animal print doesn’t always have to be super vivid, and this cardigan from Express proves it. The soft fabric has a subtle leopard-print texture to it, but you wouldn’t know unless you looked closely. It’s like wearing a blanket, so it’s perfect for your 8am classes when you’re still not ready to be a person. But, it’s so cute that it could be styled for your internship too! We love a versatile sweater!
A soft scarf
Last but not least, obviously scarves are very important this time of year, especially if you live in an area where snow exists. Adding an animal print scard, like this one from American Eagle, is a great way to quietly incorporate the look into your outfit while still not standing out too much. The print is more subdued than most leopard print, so if you’re still working on getting comfortable with wearing these fun pieces, it’s a great way to start.
