Attention, frequent forgetters!
Students from six lucky schools in the United States are getting an Apple takeover to make your lives 500% easier. If you’re like me and you forget your wallet, student ID, meal card, etc., your life is going to change.
Apple has announced that they are making it possible for students to use their iPhone and Apple Watch to pay for things like laundry, food, bookstore supplies, as well as gain access to the gym, library, and their dorms.
All you’ll have to do is hook your student ID up to your Apple Wallet, and Apple will install readers wherever your ID is accepted to scan you in. This will enable you to leave your physical wallet behind without stressing. And if your wallet is safely in your room, it's not in danger of getting lost on campus!
This capability has already launched on campus with Duke, the University of Alabama, and the University of Oklahoma, and is set to launch soon with Johns Hopkins, Santa Clara, and Temple. Obviously we're hoping every school gets on board with this eventually if this test-run goes well.
What do you think of this innovation? Would you still bring your wallet with you? Let us know in the comments!
