Memorial Day is around the corner and whether you’re a guy or girl, we all want to stand out during the fireworks. Let’s bust out our patriotism people and rock some Memorial day outfits that we can actually wear more than once a year. This means no spandex American flag print pieces. 1. Think Pink

These pink overalls from Princess Polly are such a cute look that would be perfect for any BBQ. It’s always great to have something that is outside the color scheme of the American Flag. With a pair of white sneakers, a lacy bralette, or a white t-shirt you’ll look trendy and ready to go. This is a fun piece, so have fun with it!

2. Not So Girly Whirly

I get it, not every girl wears pink. Even if you do, don’t be afraid to go rugged. The camo print shorts from Cotton On are a perfect way to stand out on Memorial day. Get the all-American feel and embrace your patriotism - plus yourself - in Under Armour’s open back flawless shirt. Add the ellen buckle booties from Frye and you have a BAMF look.

3. 'Murica Da Shoe-tiful

Another one for the girls! (I’ll get back to the guys in a second I promise.) This is the quintessential red white and blue look - I didn’t forget. This look all started when I fell in love with the Modcloth color me casual sandal. Shout out for the girls who create their outfits around their shoes, I get it. Then I found these Levi patch jeans and now I am in a love triangle between the two, lucky they go great together. With such a fun look I wanted a fun top and found it at Hollister. Their star print must-have easy pocket t-shirt is perfect for Memorial day. The entire outfit just makes me smile.

4. Memorial Gray

You can stand out without wearing a lot of color. To prove it I made an envy-worthy Memorial day look following a grayscale color palette. The gingham chambray dress from Express is timeless and will probably be my go-to summer dress. You could wear this dress with almost any shoe in any color, but for Memorial day I like sneakers. The 247 classic from New Balance are my sneakers of choice. The black Modcloth backpack will let you carry all the essentials, but it’s exactly what you need to finish the look. I love finding the perfect accessory.

5. Baby You're a Firework

Every girl loves a sharply dressed man ❤️️. The micro floral print shirt from Express has that firework feel without being kitschy. When paired with Cotton On’s fitted khaki shorts and the dark brown jet belt from Frye you will look sharp without over dressing. Another bonus is you can wear this look to pretty much any event - perhaps a first date 😉- and all the pieces are easily interchangeable. Consider this an investment into your closet.

6. (E)Quality Matters

Hello gents. I have another suggestion for ya. If you don’t want to wear a button down, but aren’t feeling the sweats either, don’t worry, I have a happy-medium. Hollister’s all equal shirt is fun and it has a great message. Paired with Levi’s slim fit performance cool stretch jeans in the kilimanjaro wash and Under Armour’s UAS club low leather sneakers you’ll have a perfect Memorial Day look that you can wear all summer. P.S. Hollister’s all equal shirt is available for girls too.

7. Cool for the Summer

For the guys who just want to chill at home, go with the comfy outfit. Luckily for you New Balance makes comfortable look really good. Their kairosport jacket is probably one of the best looking hoodies I have ever seen. Feel free to wear a fitted pair of jogger sweats (the pair below is Express). As long as you have casual plans you won't look sloppy - just don’t forget to brush your hair. If you do want/ need to dress it up Express also had a great pair of slim fit burgundy chico pants that are still breathable.
