1. The Most Isolated City In The World
Perth is officially the most isolated mainland city in the world as the closest major Australian city is Adelaide, which is over 2,000km away. In fact, Perth’s so far away from everything, it’s closer to Singapore than it is to Sydney or Melbourne! Even though you feel like you’ve lived here forever, there’s so much left to discover. Get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and go road trippin’ down the coast. I recommend checking out Greens Pool, Serpentine Falls or the sand dunes to name a few.2. It Gets Hot. So Hot.
With a daily average of 8 hours of sun 365 days a year, you’ve probably noticed it get’s a little toasty. Perth gets the most sunshine of any capital city in Australia and with students in Melbourne experiencing 4 seasons a day; it’s a pretty sweet deal. Get your hands on some awesome discounts from UNiDAYS and make the most of the glorious weather.3. Laneways
Perth has undergone a revamp of it’s laneways so if you’ve always wanted to go to uni in Melbourne, Perth has brought you a little piece of Victoria in the form of cute bars, restaurants and specialty shops to discover; it’s a little piece of Melbourne on the West Coast! A Saturday without brunch is not a Saturday at all. Try out one of my favorites in and around Perth including the Little Bird Café, Tropico and Duende.4. King’s Park Is Bigger Than Central Park.
Who needs New York when you’ve got an incredible hang out in your own city? It’s an ideal spot for a picnic in between lectures so head down with a group of friends and take some time out. You’ve got until the end of March to enjoy Australia’s favourite outdoor cinema, which shows advance screenings and new releases on the lawns of iconic Kings Park!5. Surf’s Up
If you’re a surfer you’ll know that some of the largest surfing waves in the world can be found in the Margaret River region. Not all that into it? Why not give it a go and try out some surfing lessons or get the girls together and go paddle boarding on a calmer day.6. Walk To Rottnest
Everyone in Perth loves a trip to Rotto on the ferry. It may seem ridiculous but five thousand years ago you could walk from Perth to Rottnest on foot! Any excuse to go to Rottnest is a good one so why not plan a weekend away for the holidays to refresh before the next semester.Even more from UNiDAYS
