When it comes to the party season, my favourite bit is make up. This is the only time of the year where you can go all out with beauty and your outfit and no-one can say you're overdressed - it's Christmas damnit! I've compiled a little make up menu of all the beautiful things I want to be putting on my face or finding under the tree this Christmas.

Be Cheeky!

First up in my festive beauty edit is The Balm Down Boy Blush, this is a one size fits all blush in a lovely golden-pink colour. Thinking full on pink? Bobbi Brown's Brightening Brick in Pink is the perfect mix of six rosy shades, guaranteed to bring some colour to even the dullest complexions! To nail your blush, contour and highlight in one, the Urban Decay Naked Flushed is great if you're short of space in your make up stash. For a totally new blusher experience, try the Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Acid. This liquid blusher is super fluid and takes a little getting used to but applied slowly with a sponge it can pack a punch!

It's All About Eyes

I'm a sucker for a bit of winged liner so Stila's Got Ink Cushioned Gel Eyeliner is right up my street. A bold cat-eye flick is every-season perfect, let alone party season! Pair with a metallic shadow underneath such as the Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Space Cowboy or Solstice for a little extra somethin'-somethin'! Get Lippy

There's no doubt about it. In my mind, winter time = dark lips. I love Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils because they're so easy to apply. If you're feeling the need for a classic red, Revlon Colourburst Lip Stain in Provocateur in your answer and for under a tenner - it's a bargain. More of a nude gal normally? Try Ciate by Olivia Palermo in Velveteen, a slightly darker rose-pink that is just a step up from a dark nude. The ultimate vampy lip has to be a purple. This Tom Ford Lip Colour in Bruised Plum is such a deep violet it takes some pulling off but it makes a mean statement.

Nailed It

An on-point mani is a must for the party season. Just think of how many photos there'll be of you holding a glass of something fizzy? During the winter months, I'm always torn between a bright nail to bring some sunshine such as Nars Cosmetics Nail Varnish in Hunger or a vampy dark colour to complement the dark nights like Bourjois La Laque Nail Varnish in Beach Violet or Ciate by Olivia Palermo in Napa Valley.
