4 sugar free sweet treats

Sugar-free is big business right now and for the past few weeks the social team have been trying (really hard!) to cut out the sweet stuff and get our sugar fix from elsewhere. Along the way we've found that a lot of clean recipes can be a little bit confusing. They're removing refined sugar but are sometimes adding in 4 unheard-of replacements that are either expensive or only available from really obscure places. These are some of our favourite recipes that we've discovered over the past month. Basically, we beat January and we're super proud of it!

Dan's chocolate orange bites

Our very own Dan whipped up an extra large batch of these chocolate orange bites to share with the team last week and everyone was loving them. All that are needed in these is dates, almonds, orange extract (you could replace this with vanilla or almond for a different flavour) and some 100% cocao powder. These bites are so easy and are super delicious, perfect for elevenses! ‌
 

Katie's raw brownies

Blitz 140g of pecans in a food processor, then add 400g dates, 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder and add some honey or agave syrup for sweetness and blitz again until sticky. Pop in a tin in the fridge for a couple of hours (or freezer to speed it up) and viola! Done. ‌

Protein banana pancakes

These are so easy! All you need is two ripe bananas, two or three egg whites and a heaped tablespoon of flour (you can use coconut flour if you want it to be gluten free). You can also add some berries into the mixture or you can save them for the toppings! ‌
 

Almost raw & clean raspberry bakewells

These are absolutely amazing! I created these from a recipe I found on Nadia's Healthy Kitchen, one of my favourite clean/vegan/healthy blogs. They're 100% clean so they don't have any sugar or flour in and they're also basically raw as they're not cooked. The only 'cooking' that you have to do is heating up frozen berries over a low heat to make the chia jam which isn't really cooking! If you're a fan of the classic Bakewell tart and you need that marzipan hit, give these a go. ‌
