Best for something ‘cultural’: Old Joint Stock and Theatre

This Broad Street superclub is Birmingham’s playtime palace. Split into five unique areas, Rosie’s lets you boogie between day-glo dancefloors, smooth R&B jams and cheesy pop playlists until the wee small hours of the morning. And if you wander around the corner to Gas Street you’ll find their hidden speakeasy, Rosie’s Laundry, a more intimate spot, perfect for a few lowkey cocktails.

Best for hanging out: Rose Villa Tavern

One of the Jewellery Quarter’s most welcoming watering holes, the Rose Villa Tavern is all about the rich leather, real ales and chicken wings so spicy you have to sign a disclaimer - seriously. Boasting some of the friendliest staff in the city, it’s the ultimate spot for chilling out with a craft beer or a cocktail.

Best for the morning-after: The Original Patty Men

Located in one of the Shaw’s Passage railway arches, there’s nowhere else to eat the hangover away than Original Patty Men. Self-professed ‘purveyors of filth’, OPM have got you covered for a belly-busting treat of cheese-slathered burgers, slaw-loaded fries and even some tasty homemade nuggz. They’re the perfect precursor to your mid-afternoon nap.

Best for dinner with your course mates: The Stable

A cathedral to ciders and hot, tasty slices, this John Bright Street restaurant is comfortable dining at its finest. With a cool and relaxed atmosphere, The Stable offers an awesome array of mouthwatering pizzas, pies and salads to get stuck into, all made with local, quality ingredients. It also offers the opportunity to spread your cider-loving wings as it boasts one of the most extensive cider selections in the city - including cider brandy.
