Peanut Butter Day is officially the 24th January 2017. Hello, best day ever! Here are 12 epic treats from sweet snacks to serious showstoppers with some sippable snacks and savoury dishes also making an appearance. You are so welcome.
1. Showstopping snacks
Let's go big here. Starting off with some seriously amazing cakes and desserts, the showstoppers, if you will. First up, this Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Brownie Layer Cake is just insane. Yep, this is a real thing. Basically, all of our favourite sweet treats rolled into one incredible celebration cake. What are we celebrating? Peanut Butter Day, duh! If peanut butter cookie dough doesn't get you going then, frankly, you're dead inside. Next, this Unbelievable Peanut Butter Pie is pretty unbelievable. There are 4 things happening in this unbelievable peanut butter pie:
- Peanut butter Oreo crust
- Creamy peanut butter filling
- Rich chocolate ganache
- Crushed Reese’s Pieces: in two places!
Make it before it's too late! Finally in the showstopper section is this super cute and pretty Creme Egg Peanut Butter & Nutella Cake. This baby is more chocolately than the rest but that's why we like it! Peanut butter is the little topper on top of an awesome cake for this one and it's all kinds of tasty.
2. Salty and savoury
As much as peanut butter and sweet treats go hand in hand, there's always going to be a place in my heart for peanut butter in savoury dishes. Firstly, this Chicken Satay Curry looks incredible. It's essentially chicken marinated in a homemade satay seasoning which is then simmered in a peanut sauce. Not traditionally an Asian dish but it's inspired by the most amazing flavours and is super luxurious! Along the same lines as the curry but slightly more bite-sized. These Chicken Satay Skewers are an ideal starter or side to a tasty salad. Finally, something a little different in the peanut butter mix is this West African Peanut Soup. This is 100% vegan too and is a combination of peanut butter, tomato puree and leafy greens. Season with ginger and garlic for a warming and comforting winter-y soup.
3. Bite-sized treats
Back to the sweet stuff! I couldn't stay away for long because who can resist Reese's Peanut Butter Brownies? Super indulgent and really quite impressive. Try not to eat the whole batch! The great thing about peanut butter is the fact that it can easily make vegan and raw treats so you can suit loads of dietary requirements. These Vegan Peanut Butter Cookies are a super quick bake, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up! Next up, these Raw Peanut Butter Cup Doughnuts are really impressive and don't have any refined sugar in them which is fab if you're on a new year clean eating diet.
4. Delicious drinks
This post wouldn't be complete without some drinks and peanut butter just goes so well in a milkshake that I've dedicated this section to just that! Firstly, this Peanut Butter & Chocolate Milkshake seems like it's the dreamiest thing ever. THEN, this Peanut Butter & Nutella Milkshake comes to town and the nutty chocolate favourite takes over from simple chocolate. Finally, to try and make ourselves feel better we've found a breakfast smoothie. If it's a 'smoothie' then it's healthy, right? This Coconut, Chocolate & Peanut Butter Breakfast Smoothie is perfect if you like all of these flavours! Check out plenty more delicious snacks and treats over on our Nom Central Pinterest board.
