Whether you use your iPhone for the ultimate selfie, scrolling Insta or watching the best live videos from Snapchat - the new iPhone sounds like a Christmas-list MUST HAVE, right? In fact, there are three new models to choose from…
The game-changing innovations from their latest handsets this year are
- Wireless charging
- No more home button
- Dual 12MP camera
- 4K video up to 60fps
- Stereo speakers, 25% louder than the iPhone 7
- New facial portrait lighting feature
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are similar in appearance to the current iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The smaller version has a 4.7-inch screen, while the larger phone has a 5.5-inch screen.
Both handsets will have the all-new wireless charging for the first time. Simply place the handset on a power pad and you are good to go!
On the launch Apple’s CEO commented “Words can’t how much nicer it is to never plug in a cable again” – and we agree, time to ditch those pesky white cables!!
The iPhone 8 launches with a new colour – a blush gold and will also be available in silver and space grey and has a dual camera which is a 12MP dual-lens and features a larger and faster sensor, a new colour filter and deeper pixels. Ideal for you Instagrammers!
Apple claims the new camera delivers “the highest quality video capture ever in a smartphone” with better video stabilisation and 4K video up to 60fps.
And finally, our favourite new feature, the Animoji –available on the iPhone X
Animoji’s are animated versions of the popular emojis and will use the new Face ID hardware face-scanning exclusive to the iPhone X to create custom 3D versions based on your own facial expressions.
Apple describes Animoji as “custom animated messages that use your voice and reflect your facial expressions.” Apple is working on a wide range of 3D emoji models, including monkeys, cats, dogs, and of course piles of poop. The new iPhone X will be able to create an animated poop emoji based on a scan of your face – hmmm maybe not for me but I know someone who will love that!
The iPhone 8 will cost £699 for the 64GB version, while the iPhone 8 Plus will start from £799 (64GB). 256GB versions will also be available and go on sale on the Friday 12th September at midnight. The iPhone X goes on sale Nov 3rd with an estimated price of £1000.
