With the cold weather setting in, you might be tempted to just grab your big coat and head outside. However, if you want to stay warm whilst looking cool it’s all about layering up your clothing.
I’ve picked out a handful of different styles and items you can try out this winter when it comes to expanding your personal look and layering like a boss.
Hoodies & overcoats
The juxtaposition of hoodies and an overcoat is what makes this style really work. If you’re a fan of formal looks and are looking for a way to relax at the weekends without jumping straight in at the deep end this look is for you. Opt for classic block colours or bold patterns to add some real interest to the look.
Little & often
One of the keys to layering is using several lightweight items that you can add or take away as you move throughout the day. This look still revolves around the classic overcoat but by adding breathable, cotton items and accessories, you have full control over your warmth and look.
The overshirt
Overshirts and chore jackets are one my go to items when it comes to layering. Usually made from heavyweight cotton, they can work on their own for a busy, active day around the shops. Planning to take things a little slower? Pair this classic with an oversized, street style jacket for those skater vibes.
The aviator jacket You might not be taking to the sky anytime soon but an aviator jacket have been the must have winter coat for the past few years now. As with the mix between hoodies and overcoats, the aviator doesn’t just have to be for formal looks. Pair this classic with a simple sweat, skinny joggers and your favourite trainers for a cool, street style twist.
And there we have it! Your go to guide on layering.
