Throughout Freshers, your skin and hair can take a proper battering, for me, this was worse than the actual 'Freshers Flu'. A few weeks of no sleep, poor diet and maybe a teensy bit of alcohol combined with new surroundings will reek havoc on your hair and skin. As a beauty lover and skincare obsessive I thought I'd give you guys my recommendations for a few brands I love that will help you survive Freshers week like a pro. Plus, with 20% off Lookfantastic, when has there been a better excuse to stock up?
Sleep in a jar (or two!)
I've used absolutely all of these products that I'm talking about today and some of them really are my 'holy-grail' favourites. Two really great skin care products are from Vichy and First Aid Beauty! First up, Vichy Skin Sleep is packed full of glycyrrhizic acid, hyaluronic acid, and caffeine. In short, these babies will make you look like you've had 8 hours when really you've had 5 (ok, 4 once you've finished that episode of Narcos). I love this product, especially because it includes hyaluronic acid, the magic ingredient that helps your skin to hold up to 1000x more water. Hello, hydration! A pre-moisturiser product I also love are the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads. These tone and exfoliate and soothe with cucumber and Indian gooseberry. I really saw an improvement in my skin when I used these over a certain period of time. And, they're alcohol-free, because you don't need anymore of that in your life.Fake it 'til you make it
Clearly skincare isn't the only thing that's going to keep you looking fresh. You'll probably want to add a little coverage to really perk up your skin. I really like Benefit's Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation which contains vitamin C & E that helps to prevent signs of ageing. Plus it's oil free, which means that it's great for every skin type and has SPF 25. Talk about hard working! The second make-up must-have in my kit is Benefit's Eye Bright pencil. Pop this in the corners of your eyes to conceal shadows and pop down the bridge of your nose for highlighting Kim K would die for.Love your locks
A Fresher's week must has to be dry shampoo. Even in normal life when you're not partying 7 days a week you don't want to be washing your hair everyday. Bore me later! I love Klorane's Nettle Sebo-Regulating Dry Shampoo, it's a seriously hard working product. It regulates the oil production in your scalp as well as refreshes hair which means you'll have to wash your hair less frequently over time too. When you do get round to washing your hair, using a hair mask once a week or 10 days is a great way to keep it in tip top condition. Styling and heat can really take it's toll so a weightless mask such as the Wella SP Volumising Mask can really strengthen over-worked hair.Even more from UNiDAYS
