Plants, marble and copper all topped the list of 2018’s interior trends but now that it’s almost over, here’s what to look out for in 2019 when it comes to dressing your home.
1. Blush
Monochromatic colour schemes definitely had a moment last year and 2019 will be no exception, only this time the blacks, whites and greys will be swapped for softer, blush tones. If it’s not a colour you want to go all out with and invest fully in, think about incorporating it into your accessories. Soft furnishings in particular are a simple but effective way to do so.
2. Green
Green’s a colour that’s standing the test of time according to interiors experts so the brave few who fully committed with a statement wall last year are in luck. If you never quite made the leap or if decorating isn’t an option for you, add green accents with things like cushions, books and even plants. You’ll be surprised at just how impactful they can be.
3. Mixed metals
Mixing metals works for jewellery so why not home accessories? Be daring with your choices and opt for objects that really clash colour-wise in order to make a statement or mix things like gold and silver tea lights together for a more subtle nod at this trend.
4. Sustainability
Sustainability has been all over the headlines this year and that’s set to translate into the world of interiors too. Think natural materials like wool, and wood which bring texture to a room with minimum impact on the environment.
5. Geometric
From furniture and light fittings to wallpaper and accessories, geometric shapes are another key thing you can expect to see in 2019’s trendiest homes. They’re a great way to add a modern twist to even the most traditional of spaces and a trend that comes around again and again meaning any investments you make will be worthwhile ones.
