It’s the trend that everyone is talking about! Dopamine menus were first created and made popular within the neurodiverse community as a way to give your brain a dopamine boost.

What is a dopamine menu?

A dopamine menu is a personalised list of activities that sparks joy and boosts dopamine levels. Like a usual “menu”, these are split into:

  • Starters—quicker activities, e.g. going for a short walk
  • Main courses—things you enjoy doing with more time, e.g. having a bath
  • Desserts—things you enjoy but shouldn’t overindulge on, e.g. social media
  • Sides—things you can do alongside other tasks, e.g. listening to music
  • Specials—the bigger events, e.g. travelling
