How To Survive An Australian Summer

If you've read our previous blog post about reasons to look forward to summer, then you are aware that we are ready and excited about this summer! However, we all know that there’s going to be days of unbearable heat that we're going to be not so ready for, so we’re going to get real with you right now because we care about your welfare.  Here are 5 tips on surviving the Australian summer!

1. Always Have sunscreen

Article_Main It’s expensive, but it’s a necessity and you really shouldn’t be leaving the house (if you dare to step outside that is) without it.  This ultra light spray SPF 30 is easy to apply and water resistant for when the heat becomes too unbearable and you need to dive into the nearest source of water.  Plus, you can get 10% off this sunscreen using your UNiDAYS® discount at Lookfantastic!  Additionally, make sure you’ve got a bottle of after sun readily available for the evenings to make sure that you're bringing back lost moisture and cooling your skin after a day in the sun.

2. Make Sure You Have Plenty Of  Water

3. Air Conditioning Is A Must!

If you’re really not up for paying the price you can always head to public places that are guaranteed to have their air conditioning on full blast such as shopping centres, or the cinema.  After all nothing beats sitting in a cool, dark room when the sun’s at its hottest!

4. Bug Repellent

When the sun comes out, so do the critters and if you’re someone like me who seems to be the most attractive human being to bugs then you know that bug repellent of any form is a good investment for the summer.  Let’s face it, even the highest Sensei in Karate wouldn’t be able to swat those mosquitos quick enough!

5. Cover up!

So why not invest in a hat, or for the sake of protecting your shoulders; this tie dye beach cover from City Beach.  Plus you can get 15% off these items using your UNiDAYS® discount, so why not accessorise your summer outfits with cover ups!
