In the light of the horrific Toblerone incident where Mondelez think it's totally OK to make the gaps between the triangles absolutely massive, we've decided to take a sombre look back at some other choccie treats that used to be a damn sight better than they are now. FYI, it's not OK, Mondelez.
A recent poll of 500 Brits found that 79.8 per cent of us believe our favourite chocolate is getting smaller.. Here's the sad truth about our favourite snacks...
1. Creme Eggs
Cadbury (well, Kraft) lost more than £6m in Creme Egg sales when they changed it's delicious recipe earlier in the year. They replaced the beautiful Dairy Milk with a cheaper chocolate and we, as a nation, were not impressed. Plus, "Kraft, the makers of the Cadbury’s Creme Egg, caused uproar by reducing its multipack from six to five. It means each egg now costs 57p rather than 51p."
2. Snickers
The Snickers peaked in the 1990s – weighing a mega 62g before it shrivelled its way back down to 48g now!
3. Twix
This one has suffered a massive reduction in size from 60g in the 1980s to 50g today.
4. Quality Street
The tins in 2015 weighed 780g and looked like they were less than half the size of the tins available 20 years previously.
5. Toblerone (Sob)
The one that kicked off today's blog post. "The product's makers, US-based Mondelez International, said it had changed the design to reduce the weight of what were 400g and 170g bars."
6. Yorkie
7. Wagon Wheels
These bad boys have shrunk by 12% according to Appliance City and it's a sad time for everyone.
