5 simple skincare tips for students
Uni life can be pretty hectic and let’s be real—your skincare regime is probably not high on your to-do list. Buttt, if you’re a makeup lover, looking after your skin can give you the flawless base you’ve been dreaming of, *chef’s kiss*.
With the all-nighters, beige food and rolling out of bed 10 mins before your lecture, student life isn’t ideal for those wanting to look after their skin. These 5 tips can make a difference…
1. Stop squeezing your spots
If you’ve got a spot on your face, the first thing you want to do is pick it, obvs. But don’t! As clean as your hands may look, they’ll actually be covered in bacteria. If you’re touching an angry spot, you’ll only be adding debris to that pimple and making it a whole lot worse.
2. Always use SPF
Did you know that SPF should be used even in the winter to protect your skin from those harmful rays? Try using a moisturiser or foundation with SPF to protect your skin from sun damage, without having to add an extra step to your routine.
3. Look after your skin at night
Rule number 1 of looking after your skin at night: never sleep in your makeup. Forgetting to remove your makeup one night a week after your mad night out won't cause too many problems. But if you do it often, your pores will become clogged resulting in more breakouts. No ty.
4. Stay hydrated
We all know that drinking plenty of water has all the health benefits, and this extends to your skincare too. Drinking lots of water hydrates your skin and gives you a radiant and looking healthy glow… for free?!
5. Keep it simple
All you really need is a:
- Cleanser
- Moisturiser
- Serum(s)
- SPF
