Beauty is pain
Or so they say. It doesn't have to be a pain to look good. I absolutely LOVE my sleep so I will take any chance I get to sleep until my alarm goes off... and then some. The unfortunate part about that is I also tend to oversleep and have been late for everything from class to brunch to work to study groups. I also really love makeup but hardly ever have time to do it. In honor of back to school (and beauty week which is featuring 20% off of Too Faced, M•A•C, and Clinique), here's a routine you can do every day for less than 5 minutes.
1. BB/CC Cream
Properly applying foundation can take AGES. A good alternative is a lighter coverage found in BB or CC. These particular creams are from Clinique but you can also find BB Cream at M•A•C.
Simply squeeze a small amount of BB Cream onto your palm (or back of your hand) and warm it up with your fingers. Then apply sparingly, starting from the center of the face using semi-circular movements. Press gently to even out on skin.
2. Brow gel
When I have all the time in the world, brows take me the longest (especially if I'm going for the ~Instagram look~). What I've found as a compromise that I can usually get done in less than a minute is brow gel. If your brows are fuller, I recommend the brow set. It'll tame the brows without added color. If not as full there's the waterproof brow set from M•A•C or the brow quickie from Too Faced.
To apply, comb through the brow hairs until you achieve the desired look. Make sure to apply in the direction of the hair growth and use the precision applicator in the colored gels to shape the brow tail and fill in any gaps.
3. Lips
Here's where you have leeway. I mean, you have leeway throughout this tutorial but think of this more as a choose your own adventure. If you're looking for something that's a step above plain chapstick and will keep your lips from being chapped, I recommend the Chubby Stick™ Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm from Clinique. It comes in 16 colors and is really easy to use. If you only want a subtle hint of color then go for the Tendertalk Lip Balm from M•A•C as it creates your own personal tint based on your body chemistry. Don't worry if balms aren't your thing, Too Faced has a pretty good liquified long wear lipstick in 16 colors.
All you need to do is apply directly to your lips, making sure it's all filled in before you head out the door. Also check to make sure nothing is on your teeth.
4. Setting spray
Once you've completed (and are happy with) your look, setting spray can act as a godsend. When you're running out of time or know you won't be able to fix your makeup later, you don't have to worry when you've finished it off with setting spray. M•A•C has the Prep + Prime Fix+ which is hydrating AND soothing. Too Faced has a number of options including their Hangover 3-in-1 Setting Spray, Festival Refresh Spray, and Peach Mist Mattefying Setting Spray.
Hold between 6-12 inches away from your face and mist evenly across your skin. Wait for it to dry and then you can head out to make the most of your day.
