As a Miami girl, I'm used to warm weather year round. My idea of sweater weather is the mid-70s with bright blue skies by the beach. Now that I live in Brooklyn, NY I've learned how to layer and make my summer clothes work for me in fall and into winter.
One of my greatest cold weather pieces is a warm jean jacket with quilted lining. I scored this one from Urban Outfitters a couple weeks ago. It goes great with just about anything and keeps me toasty warm. My other tropical girl tip to staying warm is wearing thick knit stockings, or thermal leggings. They work great for me because I own way too many shorts and skirts and refuse to store them away.
My last tip is to add the perfect Autumn accessory, a fuzzy beanie! I love this one from Kangol. Beanies and hats are also super smart to have on hand for bad hair days, windy Fall afternoons and to keep cozy and warm. With these transition pieces you'll be able to wear all your summer pieces no matter the weather. Cheers to looking hot and staying warm!
