Oh, Christmas - you beautiful thing. And the most beautiful part? Having the time off to sit around in your PJs all day and watch hundreds of films back to back. If you decide to take a break from the TV classics, get down to the cinema this festive period for all these crackers.
Pitch Perfect 3 – 22 December
The Barden Bellas are back for one last all singing, all dancing extravaganza. Acca-scuse me? Yes, that’s right ONE LAST TIME! But before you bust out the tissues, all our favourites are back in the third instalment. So, if you’re looking for something feel good over the Christmas period, it doesn’t get better than this!
Star Wars: The Last Jedi – 15 December
The latest instalment of the Star Wars franchise is THE big release of the holiday season. The story follows Rey as she joins Luke Skywalker to unlock the secrets of the Force. Expect it to be full of amazing CGI and action-packed scenes.
Ferdinand – 15 December
Would it be Christmas without an animated film to make you feel all warm and fuzzy? This story is about a Spanish fighting bull who prefers smelling flowers to getting in the ring to chase a matador. Cutesy Ferdinand is voiced by none other than John Cena and that’s enough alone to get me down to the cinema!
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle – 20 December
Say what? Yes, that’s right your fave board game is getting a video game reboot. With an all-star cast including The Rock, Kevin Hart and Jack Black to name a few, this film is great to watch with the whole family. This one is full of laugh out loud moments which will spread the Christmas cheer!
If you haven't already seen
These films came out a while ago but you can still catch them in the cinema!
The Man who invented Christmas
At last, an actual Christmas film! It retells the story of how Dickens came to write A Christmas Carol by mixing his vivid imagination with people in his real life. This one is for those who love the classic Christmas stories!
Bad Moms 2
Although this one came out way before we’d even started thinking about Christmas, it’s got all the components for a Christmas comedy. The film follows the three ‘bad moms’ from the first film, but this time we have their mums coming to stay for Christmas! Fair to say, chaos ensues.
Daddy’s Home 2
Strangely similar plot line to Bad Moms 2, the sequel to Daddy’s Home throws in Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) and Brad’s (Will Ferrel) dads into the mix. Add in some Christmas family feuds, some hilarious children and you’ve got an easy, hilarious Christmas watch!
